How to Make Sponge Cake

Ingredients:

  • 250g all-purpose flour,
  • 200g granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 120ml whole milk, a
  • 2 Tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp of milk flavour

  1. Preheat your oven
  2. Grease two 8-inch round cake pans and line the bottoms with parchment paper.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually pour the dry ingredients into the egg mixture, whisking continuously until smooth.
  6. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cakes are golden brown, risen, and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pans for 5 minutes
